You can keep fresh flowers lasting longer with these four easy steps suggested by Enright Florist
1.Always start with a clean vase.
2.Remove all leaves
that will be under water. Submerged leaves will decay and create bacteria, shortening the life of your bouquet.
3.Re-cut the stem of each flower under water using a sharp knife or scissors. This prevents air pockets from forming which block water
uptake to the flowers. Re-cut stems every three days.
4.Add fresh flower food. obtainable wherever fresh flowers are sold, to the vase water. Display flowers in a draft-free location away from harsh sunlight or heating vents. Top off water daily,
and replace after several days.
Pick Your Flowers Start by selecting fresh cut flowers. Look for blooms that are just starting to open, have firm stem, healthy leaves, and erect, vibrant petals.
Get them Ready Pull off all stem leaves
that will be covered by vase water. In a water-filled basin or bowl submerge flower stems, and cut them diagonally with scissors. This simple setup will help your flowers absorb cut flower flood, while eliminating stem-clogging bacteria.
Feed Your
Flowers Always start with a clean vase and add a packet of cut flower food, such as Rogard, to warm water. The use of flower flood has been shown to increase the life of fresh flowers by several days. Individual packets are available wherever cut
flowers are sold.

misted too! When you're down to your last few blooms, change to a smaller vase. |
